Why do we see the world the way we see it? What happens when we release preconceived notions? How do our perspectives change, how do our choices shift?
Javier is an artist and educator who weaves together age-old wisdom with the contemporary world.
Navigating the interplay between movement and stillness, representation and abstraction, visibility and concealment, Javier embarks on a path where blurring these boundaries reveals a clearer vision.
Javier draws inspiration from various practices that shape his perception: meditation, the Japanese tea ceremony, calligraphy, aikido, and Eastern philosophy. These influences find expression in his diverse works, including figure drawing, calligraphic abstractions, analog photography, and more. Through this collective exploration, he captures the delicate yet infinite essence of the present moment.
Having studied Art & Design at Central Saint Martins and holding degrees in Business and Management, Javier’s experiences living in various countries serve as a wellspring of inspiration for his artistic practice. His work has garnered recognition, with commissions from The New Yorker, Creative Time, and Harper’s Bazaar. Additionally, his art is part of the British Library's collection and has been featured in collaborations with the Japanese label And A and one of the largest Spanish nonprofits. Javier’s work continues to find a wider audience, appearing in both print and online publications.
